DIY - Madubani - Decoupage |
Here is something we tried decoupaging on- a wine bottle. I painted different themes of madhubani (ganesha, peacock, fish, sun, butter fly) in bits of paper of different size and I randomly stuck them on to the bottle. Take care to stick it without any wrinkles to have a better finish. You can use decoupage glue to stick it. Layer it with the same glue and let it dry for 10-15 mins. Repeat this multiple times until you get one smooth finish. I just love the finished product. I got double the pleasure doing this as I learnt two techniques in one- decoupage and madhubani :)

ReplyDeleteBut sticking the paper without folds and waiting for the glue to dry before the next coat can be given needs quite some patience ! Its an easy craft... and there is much scope for letting loose one's creativity !

ReplyDeletePrithi this is beautiful ...I might try this one :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by...I had painted on the tiles(http://www.sroygharonda.blogspot.com) and then applied a layer of mod podge on them to act as a sealant. It also gives it a texture and shine .
Thanks a lot Sarmistha. :) Glad you liked it. Your wall art using tiles is a super idea too. I assume you used acrylic on tiles? When you apply mod podge over the paint, doesn't it smudge? I tried something similar on a laptop stand, and I spoilt it :(
